MORTON — Johnny Eugene Hughes, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 1.
He was born Nov. 3, 1940. Formally of Charleston, he was preceded in death by his parents, Stanford Eugene and Velora Hughes; two brothers, Morris Wayne Hughes and Robert Calvin Hughes; and one sister, Alice Fay Martin; as well as a granddaughter, Danielle Nichole White.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Norma Jean Hughes; his daughter, Debbie Smith and husband Scotty; four sons, Danny Eugene Hughes, Stanley Thomas Hughes, John Wayne Hughes and Hobie Lynn Hughes and wife Terrie; a brother, James Albert (T-Bone) Hughes; two sisters, Ella Joan Martin and Maria Lynn Kilgore; 11 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held officiated by Pastor Gary Longo at Trinity Gospel Fellowship.
