CHARLESTON — Libby Fay Aven, age 84, passed away Monday, March 18, at Baptist Memorial Hospital North Mississippi in Oxford.
Visitation will be held 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. Thursday, March 21, at Womble Funeral Home chapel. Funeral services will immediately follow at noon with Rev. Raymond Aven officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Gardens.
She was born on April 26, 1939, in Tallahatchie County, to the late Vernon Estel Denley and Annie Mae Denley.
Mrs. Fay was a member of Webb Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, painting and her favorite was spending time with her family.
She is survived by two sons, Tony Aven of Cowart and Bill Van Aven (Pamela) of Batesville; two sisters, Alene Denley and Juanita Shaw; two grandchildren, Allison Lee (Buddy) and Carter Aven (Caroline Parker); and three great-grandchildren, Avery Clare Lee, Aven Kate Lee and Addy Reece Lee.
She is preceded in death, by her parents; her husband of 47 years, Travis Ernest Aven; a sister, Earlene Aven; and four brothers, Paul Denley, Robert Denley, Billy “Estel Lee” Denley.
Pallbearers are Butch Aven, David Aven, Robin Denley, Buddy Lee, Jerry Todd and Ping Pong Paris.
The family requests memorials be made to LeBoneur Children’s Hospital.
