ROSEBLOOM — Mrs. Marie Bryant Bloodworth, age 95, of Rosebloom, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 21.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25, at the Rosebloom Church of the Nazarene (8676 Cascilla Rd, Cascilla) with Rev. Jerry Hatcher and Rev. Mark Moore officiating. Mrs. Bloodworth’s niece, Mrs. Charlotte Bryant Madison, will deliver a personal eulogy. Interment will follow in the Smith Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time Sunday at the church.
She was born August 1, 1928 in Calhoun County to James Fonzie and Evie Ann Nabors Bryant. Marie and her late husband, Brooks, owned and operated “Bloodworth’s” at Rosebloom where they worked side by side for several decades. Following his death, she was blessed to continue to work into her 80s and to live to see the fourth generation of Bloodworths continue to run one of Tallahatchie County’s longest standing family businesses. She was a faithful member of the Rosebloom Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by two sons, Hollis Bloodworth (Liz) and Keith Bloodworth (Nell), all of Scobey; four grandchildren, Wade Bloodworth (Becky), Laura Beth Kendall (George, Jr.), Paige McCardle (Brad) and Ashley Bianchi (Ed); and five great-grandchildren, Mary Bradley McCardle, Brooks McCardle, Ward Bianchi, Blake Kendall and Parker Kendall.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth Brooks Bloodworth; two sisters, Corinne Crocker and Garneita Murphree; and five brothers, Selma, Arlis, Herman, Victor and Hollis Bryant.
Pallbearers will be Ed Bianchi, Ward Bianchi, Wade Bloodworth, Blake Kendall, George Kendall, Jr., Brad McCardle and Brooks McCardle. Honorary Pallbearers will be Parker Kendall and Mary Bradley McCardle.
Memorials may be directed to the Rosebloom Church of the Nazarene or the Smith Cemetery Fund.
