GRENADA — Mary Frances Driskell Cooper, 93, of Grenada, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 12,at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Grenada.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with Rev. Daniel Herring officiating. Interment will follow in the Charleston City Cemetery.
She was born April 4, 1930 in Charleston to Henry Frank and Mamie Ousley Driskell. Frances enjoyed a long, successful career spanning over 43 years with Entergy of Mississippi (formerly Mississippi Power and Light).
She was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church in Grenada. Frances loved animals and also enjoyed traveling. She will lovingly be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who set the example of always putting others ahead of herself. She will be sorely missed for many years to come by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Jim Cooper; two sons, Al Cooper and Ken Cooper (Holly); two grandchildren, Casey and Mary Margaret Cooper and a special great-niece, Kay Nesbit (Tim); and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Pallbearers will be Jimbo Griffin, Karl Grubb, Lewis Keen, David McElwrath, Scott May and David Nobile. Honorary pallbearers will be Robin Dambrino, Kevin Steed, Sam Waits and James “Doc” Wall.
