CHARLESTON — Mary Agnes "Dean" McCullar, age 85, passed away Thursday, Jan. 18, at her daughter's home in Moon Lake, surrounded by her loving family.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Jan. 23, from 1 p.m. until the funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Newsom Funeral Home. Interment will be at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Jarrett Jamieson will officiate.
Dean was born on April 3,1938 in Charleston to the late Joe Cleveland White and Molly Fillyaw White. She had a personality that could brighten anyone’s day.
Dean was an amazing mother, grandmother, Mamaw, and Gigi and she loved her family more than anything. She loved to sing, dance, and play the harmonica. She was very kind and caring, but at the same time, she would always let you know how she felt. She enjoyed her trips to Gatlinburg, Tenn. where she would sit on a cabin porch and look out over the mountains. Dean was full of life and always kept everyone smiling around her.
Dean is survived by her sons, Terry McCullar of Courtland and Joe McCullar of Enid; one daughter, Sherry McCullar Black (Tom) of Moon Lake; four grandchildren, Kari Presley Jamieson (Jarrett) of Slayden; Heather McCullar Callihan (Dustin) of Courtland; Kaci Raddin Clark (Jonathan) of Byhalia; Courtney McCullar of Senatobia. eight great-grandchildren, Presley, Easton and Maggie Callihan of Courtland, Gates Raddin, Cayden Clark and Cullen Clark of Byhalia, Sumner and Hazel Jamieson of Slayden; her nephew Randy Bonner of Enid; three nieces Sandra Smith, Cindy Williams and Robbie Hodges. Dean had a host of great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Dean is preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Lee McCullar; her daughter-in-law, Ginger Roberson McCullar; sister, Mary Etta Bonner; and brother, Lee Avery White.
Pallbearers include Dustin Callihan, Jonathan Clark, Gates Raddin, Sumner Jamieson, Cayden Clark and Cullen Clark. Honorary pallearer is Easton Callihan
