GRENADA — Sheila Nyree Jackson Jarrell, 51, of Grenada, passed away Friday, May 17, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, at McKibben & Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with Rev. Rickey Harris and Rev. Truman Scarborough officiating. Interment will follow in the Elam Cemetery near Coffeeville. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Tuesday evening and one hour prior to the service Wednesday all at McKibben and Guinn.
She was born September 7, 1972 in Charleston to Howard and Sheila Dahl Jackson.
Nyree spent her entire working life in service to her fellow man. Nyree started her career as a Paramedic and later became a Registered Nurse. For more than 25 years, Nyree took the skills she learned and taught them to every student or new provider that crossed her path. She was the calm in the chaos for many.
At home, Nyree built a life around spending time with and caring for her husband, children, and grandson. She gave selflessly to others and was always willing to help those in need. She was a member of Tillatoba Baptist Church. Her legacy will live on through every life she touched.
Survivors include two daughters, Ronlyn Jarrell and Mali Jarrell of Grenada; son, Jackson Jarrell (Emily) of Grenada; mother, Sheila Jackson of Tillatoba; sister, Christy Reeves (Mickey) of Oakland; brother, Henry Jackson (Shea) of Tillatoba; grandson, E.J. Jarrell of Grenada and three nephews, Lee Jackson, Adam Reeves and Jonathan Reeves.
She is preceded in death by her father, Howard Jackson Jr.; and her husband, Eddie Edward Jarrell.
Mark Bowles, Jake Drewery, Allen Green, Bradly Haynes, Lee Jackson, Matt Kelly, Alex McGee and Jeff Wilson will honor Nyree by serving as pallbearers and carry her to rest in the Elam Cemetery.
