CHARLESTON — Shirley Ann Weeks, age 86, passed away Friday, Nov. 18, at Tallahatchie General’s Extended Care Facility in Charleston.
Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, at Womble Funeral Home chapel in Charleston with Dr. Ben Kennedy officiating. Interment followed in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery at Paynes.
She was born February 2, 1936, in Mississippi to the late W.J. Moorman and Lillie Mae Little. She was a member of Friendship East Baptist Church. She was a lover of cats and she would often donate to the Tunica Humane Society; and enjoyed making ceramics.
Shirley is survived by three sons, Ronnie Embry of Oakland, Terry (Valerie) Embry of Charleston, Eddie (Dinah) Embry of Vicksburg; one step-son, Kenny (Sherry) Weeks of Tippo; three step-daughters, Tammy (Bill) Naughton of Olive Branch, Lisa (Lynn) Pearson of Batesville and Vickie Weeks; six grandchildren, Belinda Hendrix, Hope Embry, Larry Embry, Roman Embry, Chance Embry, Kelby Embry; and 9 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, W.J. Moorman and Lillie Mae Little; her husband of 23 years, Leon Weeks; three sisters, Louise Williamson, Agnes Rounsaville and Jessie Mae Erwin.
Pallbearers were Taylor Camarato, Kelby Embry, Larry Erwin, Everett Mixon, Andy Weeks and Kenny Weeks.
