GLENDORA — On Friday, Aug. 9, members of the community gathered at a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a beautiful, new playground at the West Tallahatchie Head Start Center.
The Mississippi Department of Education joined local business leaders and representatives from the West Tallahatchie Head Start Center and Tallahatchie Early Learning Alliance (TELA) to open the playground, and children played on the new equipment for the first time.
“It is a great day to see this dedication come to reality for our children to learn and play with intention,” said Eloise McClinton, executive director of the Institute of Community Services Inc. “This partnership has been a long-term investment with TELA, Head Start and our community partners. We are elated that ICS is the benefactor of this wonderful gift. This investment will be well remembered.”
The playground equipment was financed by the Institute of Community Services and donations made through the state of Mississippi’s pre-K tax credit program to TELA.
