Deputy Jimmy Christian Jr. of the Tallahatchie County Sheriff’s Office and Officer Casey Lewis of the Tutwiler Police Department successfully completed the Certified Investigator Program through the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers’ Training Academy in Pearl.
The program consisted of 320 hours of classroom instruction spread over eight sessions, one week each month for eight months.
The training covered key topics such as homicide and death investigation, crime scene investigation, interviewing and interrogation, courtroom testimony and report writing, with additional subject areas included to strengthen investigative skills. This specialized training supports thorough case work, proper evidence handling and professional case preparation.
“I congratulate Deputy Christian and Officer Lewis on completing the program and recognize the importance of continued professional development within the county,” said Tallahatchie County Sheriff Jimmy Fly. “Continued investment in professional training strengthens law enforcement agencies and supports their shared commitment to public safety.”
Fly, Tutwiler Police Chief Carlos Thompson and Tallahatchie County Deputy Jasmine Bradford attended the recent graduation ceremony for Christian and Lewis.
