Meredith Claire Meriwether of Tallahatchie County recently graduated with distinguished honors from Grenada High School.
She is the daughter of Al and Ginger Meriwether.
While attending GHS, Meriwether was a member of Visions show choir for two years and an active member of the National Honor Society, having served as an officer for two years.
She was a member of the GHS volleyball team and was the girls’ soccer manager for two years.
Meriwether was selected as one of 10 GHS Hall of Fame members for Grenada High, and was presented the James Hughes Outstanding Citizenship and Community Service Award. She has given of her time over 140 hours in community service to various organizations.
She has served in positions within numerous civic clubs during her high school career.
Meriwether is a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
She will be attending Holmes Community College in the fall, where she will be a Holmes Ambassador and also serve as president of the Alpha Mu Beta chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at the college’s Grenada campus.
She has gone back and forth on her major of study, but is now looking into a career pathway in engineering. She currently tutors students in all forms of math, including college algebra.
