CASCILLA — With grateful hearts and unwavering faith in God's promises, we celebrate the life of our beloved mother, Lucy Faye Winter Rideout, who peacefully entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 1, from the Tallahatchie General Hospital in Charleston.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 3, at Stonefield Church of God with Rev. James Jones officiating. Interment followed in the New Hope Cemetery.
She was a devoted Christian and a member of the Church of God whose life reflected the love, grace, and compassion of Jesus Christ. Her faith was the foundation of everything she did. Whether through prayer, serving others, or offering words of encouragement, she faithfully shared God's love with everyone she met.
Above all else, she was a loving mother whose greatest joy was her family. She gave selflessly, loved unconditionally, and always placed the needs of others before her own. Her home was filled with warmth, kindness, and wisdom, and she created countless memories that her children and grandchildren will cherish forever. She taught her family the importance of faith, honesty, forgiveness, and love by the example she lived every day.
She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, generous heart, unwavering strength, and the comforting prayers she faithfully lifted for those she loved. Her legacy is one of faith, devotion, and unconditional love that will continue to inspire future generations.
Though our hearts are deeply saddened by her passing, we rejoice in knowing that she has received the eternal reward promised to those who trust in Christ. We take comfort in the words of Scripture: "Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter into the joy of your Lord." (Matthew 25:23).
She leaves behind a family who will forever treasure her love and honor her memory by striving to live with the same faith, compassion, and grace she so beautifully demonstrated. Survivors include her daughter, Belinda Smith of Cascilla; sons, Timmy Rideout(Alice) and Quint Rideout(Michelle), both of Cascilla; sister, Joan Hill of Tillatoba; brother, Marty Winter(Wanda) of Tillatoba; grandchildren, Amanda Rideout, Anthony Rideout(Shonda), Brandon Smith, Jacob Rideout(Daley) and Connor Rideout(Ellie); five great-grandchildren, Cole Anderson, John Warren Rideout, Grayson Rideout, Riley Kate Rideout and Reece Rideout and a host of step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband of 54 years, Sonny Rideout; daughter-in-law, Tonia Rideout; son-in-law, Terry Smith; and brothers, Roy and James Winter.
While we mourn her absence, we celebrate a life well lived and a soul now at peace in the presence of God. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
Cole Anderson, Justin Hill, Anthony Rideout, Connor Rideout, Jacob Rideout, Jason Rideout and Nikki Winters honored her by serving as pallbearers.
"Her children rise up and call her blessed." (Proverbs 31:28)
