What helps young people see new possibilities for their future?
Across Charleston, more people are coming together around opportunities for local youth.
The Charleston Thrives Education Working Group continues building stronger connections between schools, churches, families, employers, volunteers and community leaders to help support students both inside and outside the classroom.
One visible example is the growing “Little Steps, Big Dreams” Facebook community, which connects residents to educational resources, youth opportunities, volunteer needs and ways to support local students.
Community conversations are also exploring expanded summer learning opportunities, mentorship support, career exposure efforts and stronger partnerships that help students better understand future pathways available to them.
What continues standing out most is the growing sense of shared responsibility around supporting youth across Charleston.
Teachers, families, churches, volunteers and local leaders are continuing to find new ways to work together around student encouragement, opportunity and connection.
Progress often begins through relationships.
Through conversations.
Through people helping young residents see possibility, support and opportunity around them.
And that momentum continues growing across Charleston.
If you see progress happening across Charleston, we hope you will share it with me and with each other.
