Mrs. Peyton Salmon Brown and Mr. Michael Ray Boone Jr., both of Charleston, are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Shelby Grace Boone of Charleston, to Drake Pryor Barton of Oakland. He is the son of Andy and Neely Barton of Oakland.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Robert and Sharon Salmon of Charleston, the late Michael Ray Boone Sr. and the late Barbara McCullar Boone of Tillatoba.
She is a 2022 graduate of North Delta School and a 2026 graduate of The University of Mississippi, where she received her bachelor’s degree in Allied Health Science.
The prospective groom is a 2021 graduate of North Delta School and is currently employed with Desoto Sod Farms, Inc.
He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Danny Barton of Oakland, Mr. and Mrs. H.B. Ross of Oakland, the late Nancy Evans of Oakland, and the late Larry Summerford (Caroline) of Fulton.
The couple will exchange wedding vows at 5:30 in the evening Saturday, October 3, at the home of Bradley and Peyton Brown near Charleston with a reception for the couple following the ceremony.
All family and friends are invited to attend.
