The Nation's Weather for Friday, June 23, 2023
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Showers and thunderstorms with locally heavy rain will
drench the mid-Atlantic tomorrow. Although the rain is
needed in some locations, brief instances of localized
flooding are possible. Thunderstorms are also expected to
rumble in much of the Southeast. Meanwhile, afternoon
thunderstorms are forecast to erupt in a swath from far
southeastern Montana and western South Dakota southward to
West Texas. Any of the storms could produce flash flooding,
large hail, damaging winds and even a tornado. Those storms
could linger into the early evening before weakening. Fire
danger will be high in southwestern Colorado, eastern
Arizona and much of New Mexico. A couple of showers and
thunderstorms will affect Montana, and the saturated ground
could cause some flooding.
