The Nation's Weather for Monday, April 29, 2024
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
A days-long severe weather event continues tomorrow, with
the threat shifting to the south and east toward the
central Gulf coast as a storm makes slow progress to the
east. Within this zone, thunderstorms may bring hail and
damaging wind gusts to places from near the Texas-Louisiana
border through Louisiana and into western Alabama.
Thunderstorms in association with this same feature are
expected to extend to the north into parts of the Tennessee
and Ohio valleys, as well as the eastern Great Lakes
region, with showers from Illinois through the Upper
Midwest. The Northwest remains active as well, with a
chilly airmass filtering in behind a cold front that brings
showers to the region, and even some areas of snow at
higher elevations.
