NATIONAL SUMMARY
Heavy rain can cause localized flooding from southeastern
Louisiana eastward to South Carolina tomorrow. Afternoon
thunderstorms will be capable of producing flash flooding
and damaging winds in the eastern Dakotas and western
Minnesota. These storms will continue eastward into central
and southern Minnesota and northwestern Iowa overnight.
Spotty afternoon thunderstorms are expected in New England
and throughout much of the Rockies. The recent, excessive
heat will continue in the southern Plains. Temperatures over
100 degrees Fahrenheit may reach as far north as
southwestern South Dakota. The Desert Southwest will
continue to bake as well with many locations above 110 F.
Meanwhile, relatively cool air will settle over northern New
England and the northern Great Lakes.
