The Nation's Weather for Tuesday, August 9, 2022
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
A slow-moving frontal boundary will continue to spread
thunderstorms from northern Texas and Oklahoma to the Ohio
Valley and Northeast tomorrow. Persistent downpours will
heighten the risk for flash flooding across a zone from
central Missouri to Pennsylvania. Humid conditions will
linger throughout much of the Tennessee Valley, mid-Atlantic
and New England. Scattered afternoon storms will also
develop over much of the southeastern United States. Largely
dry and hot weather will overtake the northern Plains and
interior Northwest. Meanwhile, late-day thunderstorms will
erupt across the Southeast. Any storms that develop across
the region will pose a flash flood risk.
