• Marlo Renix, 35, of 611 N. Pleasant St., Charleston, guilty of a first offense of shoplifting, $347.25 and sentenced to 18 days jail time, with the court noting that his back fines total $1,771; guilty of civil contempt for failure to pay back fines, sentenced to 13 days in the county jail

• Charlie E. Townes, 68, of 1047 Elizabeth St., Charleston, charged with simple assault, was ordered to have no contact with the affiant for one year. If there are no further disputes between the parties, the charge will be dismissed.

• Whitney Clark, 34, of 2124 E. Parkway, Hernando, failed to appear, guilty of a violation of the city’s dog ordinance (running at large), was fined and assessed fees totaling $1,147.25, ordered to pay the victim’s medical bills, the cost of quarantining the dog at a rate of $35 per day, and the cost to have the dog put down.
