OAKLAND — Oakland Area Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a candidate forum Saturday, May 17, at 2 p.m., at chamber offices at 304 Holly St.
All candidates for mayor and board of alderman in Oakland are invited to attend and present their vision of the future to the community.
The municipal general election is set for Tuesday, June 3.
Candidates have been provided with questions to give them time to prepare remarks and to create consistency so that residents can compare answers. There will be time for public questions.
Seeking the office of mayor are current alderwoman Stephanie Patterson and resident Robert Jenkins.
Running for the town board are incumbents Marzet Bland, Terry Ellis, Joe W. Jenkins and Sharonda Jones. Former board member George Booker is seeking a spot, as are Keontovious Clinton, Terry Crowder, Kenneth “Bud” Leland and Latonya Richardson Sayle.
