PHILADELPHIA — Mrs. Allene (Allie) Landreth Johnson, 84, of Philadelphia, formerly of Grenada, passed away Wednesday, April 29, at the Neshoba County General Hospital in Philadelphia.
She was born October 7, 1935 in Coffeeville to Oswald Stuart and Maye Murphree Landreth. Allene had worked for many years as a nurse anesthetist and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Grenada and First Baptist Church, Philadelphia.
She will be remembered as a loving grandmother and great-grandmother.
Memorial service plans are pending and will be announced at a later date.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen Dell Sinclair (Carroll) of Monroe, Ga. and Reo “Fran” Strider (Donald) of Grenada; one sister, Billie Shaw of Coffeeville; five grandchildren, Donald Burt “Trey” Strider (Lindsay), Cody Stepp Strider (Kelly), Carson Sinclair, Ramsey Sinclair and Heath Sinclair (Rachel and Henry); and six great-grandchildren, Tripp, Landrey, McCoy and Mary Claire Strider, Emerson and Memphis Sinclair.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clyde Hugh Johnson; four sisters, Betty Bodet, RoAnn Standridge, Jeff Babbs and Jean Dell Miller; and one brother, Doug Landreth.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church in Grenada.
