CHARLESTON — Bessie Lee Collins Scurlock, age 96, homemaker, passed away Sunday, Jan. 5.
Funeral services are set for 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, at New Town Baptist Church with interment following in New Town Cemeter. Clark Williams Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
She had a wonderful sense of humor, and loved to interact with her family. The daughter of Lane and Ida Bell Collins, she was a child of God. She loved quilting, gardening and canning. She was a member of the Homemaker’s Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Green H. Scurlock; and a son, Jimmy Lee Scurlock; three sisters, Mary Collins, Leona Hollis and Hattie Collins; and five brothers, Willie, Spencer, Robert, Ernest and Eugene Collins.
She is survived by two daughters, Laverne Hill of Charleston and Juanita Corbitt of Tulsa, Okla.; and two sons, Lawrence H. Scurlock of Charleston and Normon E. Scurlock of Tulsa; 10 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
