CHARLESTON — Helen Shaw, age 79, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 7, at The University of Mississippi Medical Center in Grenada.
Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10, at Newsom Funeral Home chapel in Charleston with interment to follow in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Shaw was a member of Corinth Baptist Church, a retired CNA, loved crocheting, crossword books and has battled leukemia for over thirty years.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Glenn Shaw of Tillatoba; one daughter, Michelle Beck (Jeremy) of Baileyville, Ill.; two sons, Mark Shaw of Grenada and Glenn Shaw Jr. of Tillatoba; one sister, Dorothy Hungelford (Charles) of Ocean Springs; two brothers, David Cotten (Unice) of Brazil and Joseph Cotten (Omnie) of Coldwater; 7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Frances Cotten; and two brothers, Floyd and James Cotten.
The family requests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Leukemia Foundation.
