CLARKSDALE — Jim Pugh, age 52, owner/operator of Southern Collision, passed away Tuesday, March 17, at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, Tenn.
Funeral services were 11 a.m. Saturday, March 21, at Oakhurst Baptist Church in Clarksdale with interment following in the Memorial Gardens. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale had charge of the arrangements.
Jim was a member of Knuckleheadz trivia group, P3 Fishing Club, Benoit Outing Club, Clarksdale Bass Club, Elks Lodge, Coahoma County Country Club and Clarksdale Country Club. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed church softball and cornhole. He fought the long hard battle with cancer and successfully beat it with pneumonia being his cause of death.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Cheryl Williams Pugh; sons, Trip Pugh (Brandy) of Clarksdale, and Hunter Pugh (Sarah Ashley) of Cleveland; daughters, Mallory Pugh of Clarksdale and Emma Kathryn Pugh of Cleveland; mother, Jane Thomas Pugh of Sumner; sister, Donna Lee Ray (Cliff) of Sumner; grandchildren, Alyssa Pugh, Kaitlyn Davis, Quinn Gullick, Chamberlynn Gullick, Elli Jo Pugh and Evie James Pugh.
He was preceded in death by his father, James H. Pugh, Sr. and mother-in-law, Jewel Moore Williams.
