Joe Standard

ENID —  Joe Wayne Standard, 82, of Enid, passed away on Saturday, April 20, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. 

Funeral services were 1 p.m. Monday, April 22, in the chapel of Dickins Funeral Home with Bro. Derrick Simmons officiating.  Interment  followed at Bethel Cemetery near Enid. 

Mr. Standard was born on August 3, 1936 in Marks to the late Willie Mae Ship Standard and Leonard Lamar Standard. 

He retired from the Mississippi Department of Transportation after serving 40 years.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was an avid hunter and fisherman.  His greatest joy was his grandchildren whom he loved dearly. 

Mr. Standard leaves behind his loving family, which includes his wife of 61 years, Betty Mosier Standard of Enid; two daughters, Lisa Standard Frazer (Edward) of Leland and Tina Standard Oglesby (Tim) of Senatobia; one son, Kelly Standard (Tammy) of Enid; six grandchildren, Lauren Oglesby, Jonathan Oglesby (Laken), Madison Oglesby, Nathan Frazer, Allie Standard and Jessica Standard. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Patsy Murphree; and two brothers, Lamar Standard and Terry Standard.

Dickins Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
