GRENADA — Kerron Briscoe Moorman, age 66, of Grenada, passed away Thursday, March 24, at her residence.
Funeral services were 3 p.m. Saturday, March 26, at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Grenada with interment following in the Smith Cemetery near Rosebloom.
She was born Aug. 26, 1949 in Grenada to Rev. Darrell Coats Briscoe and Effie Geraldine Gahagan Briscoe. She was a retired business manager for South Central Bell, where she worked for 30 years. Following her retirement from South Central Bell, she worked as a church secretary at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Grenada until 2012. She was an active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir, taught Sunday school and was active in numerous other activities within the church.
Kerron loved being outdoors and attending sporting events. She was an avid fan of the Mississippi State Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves. Kerron will be remembered for her servant’s heart for Christ and will be missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her husband, John Moorman; two sons, Rev. Fletcher Moorman and his wife, Becky of Carrollton and Mark Moorman and his wife, Amanda of Rosebloom; three sisters, Yvonne Bates and her husband, Hal of Lebanon, Tenn., Wanda Madison and her husband, Buck of Grenada and Vivian Simmons and her husband, Eddie of Tillatoba; one brother, David Briscoe and his wife, Debbie of Lebanon, Tenn.; 4 grandchildren, Shelby Grace Moorman, Carrie Reagan Moorman, John Abraham Moorman and Anna Ivy Moorman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Darrell Coats Briscoe and Effie Geraldine Gahagan Briscoe.
Pallbearers were Jody Bates, David Briscoe, Jr., Jason Moorman, Mac Moorman, Paul Moorman and W.T. Moorman. Honorary pallbearers were Joe Moorman and Raymond Moorman.
The family requests memorials be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church in Grenada.
