ENID — Mrs. Nina Mabus, age 81, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 2, at Baptist Desoto Hospital in Southaven.
Graveside services were held Friday, Sept. 4, at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery near Enid. Newsom Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Nina loved the Lord and her family. She loved sports, watermelon, watching grandkids playing in the pool, and country music. She was an avid sewer, gardener, and crafter. She was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Her favorite bible verses were Genesis 28:15 and Psalms 25:4.
Those left to cherish her memory include her two daughters, Amanda Hardy (Ray) of Tippo and Sherry Weeks (Kenny) of Phillip; four grandchildren, Ashley Hardy O'Neal (Nathan) of Cleveland, Jess Hardy (Stacy) of Tippo, Andy Weeks (Maribeth) of Phillip and Madelyn Weeks Moore (Dusty) of Batesville; seven great-grandchildren, Nate O'Neal Jr, Ava Ray O'neal, Hardy O'Neal, Willa Beth Weeks, Alice Ruth Weeks, Blair Adele Weeks and Caleb Ryan Moore. She is also survived by a sister, Lee Dell Sturgis of Enid; and a brother, Tommy Sturgis (Deborah) of Nesbit.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie C. “Buddy” Mabus; a son, Terry Mabus; her parents, Leland and Margaret Sturgis; and a brother, Rodger Sturgis.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to Mt. Pisgah Cemetery Fund or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
