OAKLAND — Thelbert G. Rice, 79, passed away Monday, Nov. 9.
Graveside services were 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12, at Pine Hill Cemetery near Oakland. Newsom Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
He was a farmer, had an avid love for horses and served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Pine Hill Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Janie Rice; brothers, Emmette Rice and Luke Rice, and one sister.
He is survived by his wife, Carrie Rice of Oakland; a son, John K. Rice of Oakland; and grandson, Jonathan Robert Rice; and a brother, William Rice and wife Pat.
