ENID — William R.Freeman, age 91, entered into his Heavenly home Friday, Aug. 2, at the Mississippi Veteran’s Home in Oxford.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, at Adams Arbor Church of God of Prophecy near Charleston, where he was a member. Interment followed in Adams Arbor Cemetery. Newsom Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Bro. Freeman, oldest serving deacon of The State of Mississippi Church of God of Prophecy was also an avid fisherman and hunter.
He was a United States military veteran.
He was married to and is survived by the love of his life, Marie Freeman for 67 years.
He also leaves to cherish his memory two sisters, Mattie Parker (James) of Holcomb and Fran Osborne of Roanoke, Va.; one brother, Daniel Freeman (Sandra) of Springhill, Tenn.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Smiley Isaiah and Lottie Freeman; a sister, Rita Dawson; and three brothers, Smile Lee, Davis and Afton “Al” Freeman.
