The National Charleston Day Organization announces its 2023 scholarship awardees.
Lamaya Tellis, a 2023 honor graduate of Charleston High School, has been awarded the Dr. Ethel Johnson Greene Educational Scholarship. Lamaya is currently attending Mississippi State University, where she plans to study pre-med in anticipation of becoming a doctor.
La’Keria McCord, a 2023 graduate of Charleston High School, was presented the LuAnnie Pitts Taylor Educational Scholarship. She is currently attending the University of Mississippi, where she majors in Business Administration with a goal of becoming a business owner.
Jasmine Tellis, a 2023 graduate of Charleston High School, has received the Glennie M. Houston Scholarship. Jasmine is currently attending Mississippi State University, where she majors in Biological Sciences. Her goal is to become a doctor.
Caley Patterson, a 2023 graduate of Charleston High School, is recipient of the David and Mildred Alford Memorial Scholarship. Caley is currently attending Northwest Mississippi Community College, where her chosen area of study is pre-nursing with a goal of becoming a nurse practitioner for her health care community.
