I want to register my Republican outrage. Here’s the outrage: editorial writers who continue to pile on President Donald Trump unjustifiably. Trump has enough cases to wade through already, all of which will likely prove fruitless. Patient man. He has been tolerant, but this was too much.
Here comes Bill Crawford again (Northside Sun, “Where Is the Outrage…?”, May 29, 2026), this time wildly throwing mud at our President. He must have a weekly deadline in a few places—I guess he has got to have something to write about every week. Trump is always a good target, justified or not. That has been the universal pattern. It’s always open season on Trump. It’s true even abroad, for example, with the BBC. But Trump has a case to chop off a large piece of BBC assets, in B as in billions!
Now it’s hard to locate the Crawford’s charge in the mud. Let me try. We all know IRS is an entity to itself and no office holder controls it. Or even attempts to. It is like a hungry beast that everyone fears, and it seems you are automatically guilty until proved innocent. No one touches it! Remember Lois Lerner, a name that will live in evangelical infamy with conservatives and evangelical churches and religious groups, an IRS employee who got busy on Republicans, conservatives, and evangelicals. But thankfully she was exposed.
Crawford implies several illegalities. Let’s separate what’s legal and what is not. Legal: suing the government, appointing your lawyer to be acting US Attorney General (coming to all this late in case), and accepting almost $2B to setup a fund for “weaponization” against politically incorrect victims, and needing it, if you’re just MAGA in some cases. In the last 10 years, a gross number of petty financial violations were charged against Trump. Mountains were made of molehills Letitia James and Fani Willis were prominent, mainly now in their failure and premeditated revenge and in wasting government revenues. All were simply an abuse of their power and the courts.
This is a pattern against Trump who actually donates his annual salary to veterans causes. At this rate, Trump may need the money when he gets out of office and the Democrats take over. We have seen what Congressional Democrats are capable of and this is an exact case in point when Trump was out of office. Many still suffer from terminal TDS.
Trump’s suit charges are never proved, granted, but in equity do they really need to be? Trump’s tax returns were published in New York Times! That ought to be enough said. Think of the US government expenses on just the Mueller Report! Plus, all the other now 91 false, unfruitful, meritless cases. Trump needs a “get out of jail free card”! I have been trying to find the evidence that Trump is head of a crime family as Democrats seem to assert proof beyond necessity ever since 2016.
Crawford’s closing shot: something about the President suing himself, settling out of court, and then giving the money back for the “weaponization” fund. Or some ridiculous conflation of appearances. That is not good logic nor the true case.
Crawford and others think they get a win on all this because the courts deem all this doesn’t square with separation of powers in the Constitution. Trump is not a lawyer, so his charitable efforts fall short. My plea is just for some fairness here.
Leviticus 19:15. “You shall do no injustice in court. You shall not be partial to the poor or defer to the great, but in righteousness shall you judge your neighbor.”
