CHARLESTON — Robert “Bob” Richards, age 80, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 28.
Visitation will be held 1-2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at Charleston Church of God, where he was a member.
Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m., with interment following in Charleston City Cemetery. Newsom Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
He served in the Marine Corps in Vietnam, receiving the Purple Heart, Vietnam Service Medal and Medal of Good Conduct.
He taught and retired from East Tallahatchie School District as an art and history teacher.
He is survived his wife, Charlotte Richards; daughters, Andrea Jones and Courtney Jones Brown; son, Patrick Jones; a sister, brother, 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
The family requests memorials be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
