Voters will be called to the polls Tuesday to determine the candidate who will occupy the Education District 7 seat on the East Tallahatchie School District Board of Trustees for the next five years.
In the only race on county ballots, six-term incumbent school board member Danny Adams, 60, faces a re-election challenge from Tameka McIntyre, 34.
The polls on Nov. 7 will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. at the following five voting precinct locations:
» Charleston District 1, where, due to a class conflict, voting will take place in the Walter N. Ahrens Building (instead of the band hall) on the campus of Charleston Middle School
» Charleston District 2, at Charleston City Hall
» Charleston District 3, at the Rotary club building
» Murphreesboro
» Spring Hill
Tallahatchie County Deputy Circuit Clerk Betty Love said 47 absentee ballots had been cast as of late Tuesday.
Saturday is the deadline to cast an absentee ballot in person at the circuit clerk’s offices in Charleston and Sumner. Those offices will be open from 8 a.m. until noon on Saturday.
