Thanksgiving is passed for some, but for me it should be made a legal holiday for every day.
I thank God 365 days a year. I couldn’t thank God in one day for all his blessings and for all he has done for me and my family.
Next, there is Christmas. Some don’t know why we celebrate or what it is about. On Christmas, we observe, commemorate, the birth of Christ, who gave his life so that we can be forgiven for our sins.
Thank you, God, for being so just and forgiving. Otherwise, where would we be?
At my age, I don’t ask why I am still here, but I thank God every day if I see the daylight.
I love Thanksgiving and Christmas, and the spirit that both bring at this time of year — joy, love, peace and goodwill.
This is the perfect time to forgive, if we have friends or family, sisters or brothers, that we do not agree with and maybe have not talked to in a while. Who is better or worse, the one who does not forgive or the other?
I pray every day and night, God, let me be ready when you come or call.
Lastly, while we have the Christmas spirit within us, let us remember the sweet children who are fighting to live, such as those at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis. Every little donation helps. It could be our children, grandchildren or great-grandchildren, for cancer never sleeps.
