At a July 9 meeting of the Tallahatchie County Board of Supervisors, the board presented Shyerra Truly with a $500 check as the local recipient of the Mississippi Association of Supervisors 2026 County Employee Scholarship.
Truly, of Charleston, is currently enrolled at Northwest Mississippi Community College in Senatobia.
This year, the MAS County Employee Scholarship program awarded $37,000 in scholarships to dependents of current or retired county employees around the state.
“The MAS County Employee Scholarship program is one way that our association can give back to the employees of our counties,” said Executive Director Derrick Surrette. “We hope to have an even greater response to the program next year.”
