We are back for the new year 2026. Our club members are ready for a new opportunity to review some of our selections of books.
Our book for January is “Manhunt,” by Janet Evanovich. This is a juicy book about a woman with a talent for numbers. Alexandria Scott wants to escape the rat race and go someplace where the men outnumber the women.
Trading her Wall Street job and fancy condo for a rundown cabin in the woods, she is now “Alaskan Wilderness Woman.” It is not long before she finds exactly what she’s looking for: one sexy pilot named Michael Casey. But this confirmed bachelor has no intention of getting caught in any woman’s crosshairs — especially a hunter as appealing as Alex. It takes skill, determination, and a little romantic persuasion for this big-game hunter to bag her prey.
This story takes place in Juneau, Alaska, in a picturesque setting for men and women who want to get away from the big cities and enjoy freedom.
Imagine a big-city girl in the backwoods of Alaska. No experience living in an isolated area with no department stores, no grocery stores, no restaurants, and no cell-phone service.
This is a great book just to sit and read on a dreary day. This is light reading, entertaining and a great way to spend an afternoon. And a break from reality.
I was not ready for this book to end. I wanted the author, Janet Evanonich, to go into a little more detail and really was hoping Alex would find out she was expecting.
Maybe she can write a continuation of this book and name it “Alaskan Wilderness Woman.”
