Our monthly book club meeting got a real treat. We were at Lillie’s Bed and Breakfast.
It was on a warm Friday night and we were outside reviewing the book, “Doll Baby,” by Laura Lane McNeal.
The following is a little something to pique your interest about our book.
The lady of the house, Fannie, is an eccentric grandmother, who has a tendency to end up in the local asylum.
Her cook, Queenie, and her smart-mouthed daughter, Doll Baby, take it upon themselves to initiate Ibby (Fannie’s granddaughter) in the grand traditions and darkest secrets in the ways of the South.
At Lillie’s Bed and Breakfast, we enjoyed the fresh-cooked fish and other food treats, including a couple of glasses of wine while we enjoyed conversation about our next book for June.
