After a long hot summer of practicing and scrimmaging against each other, the Strider Academy Lady Rams will finally get to play another team this Friday (July 29) when they travel to Calhoun City to take on the Lady Cougars of Calhoun Academy.
Coach Jon Allison stated that although the team still sports a youthful roster, they all have experience.
“We have two seniors, no juniors and three sophomores, while the other nine players on our roster are sixth- through ninth-graders,” he said. “However, with the exception of two, they have all played at least one season with most having two to three seasons of high school softball under their belt. Because of that experience, we have scheduled more non-district games this year.”
The Lady Rams will play their first home game Monday, Aug. 1, against Hebron, at 5.
