SUMNER — Christmas Eve will be ushered in with a bang and a heavenly light show during the annual fireworks display here Saturday night, Dec. 24, beginning at 7.
The traditional Christmas Eve event will be orchestrated by professional technicians from LaFollette, Tenn.-based Pyro Shows.
The fireworks will be launched from the Cassidy Bayou bridge, and the display can be best viewed from the streets along the bayou north of the bridge, according to Mona Whitten, spokesperson for the privately-financed show, who explained that the bridge will be closed to traffic from 6:45 p.m. until the close of the event.
She said safety regulations require that the public remain a designated distance from the bridge and noted that boundaries will be established for public safety.
“Everyone is asked to look for the markers and to remain outside of the marked area,” Whitten explained.
