TILLATOBA — A Tillatoba couple were arrested on drug charges Friday afternoon, July 18, following a multi-agency investigation.
Yalobusha County Sheriff Jerimaine Gooch reported that Vernon Brower, 72, and Kimberly Brower, 57, were taken into custody at their residence on County Road 2 during the execution of a search warrant.
The operation was conducted with assistance from the Tallahatchie County Sheriff’s Office and agents from the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics.
Gooch said the search resulted in the seizure of more than a pound of alleged methamphetamine, $24,000 in cash and a 2011 Chevrolet truck. The drugs and cash were found inside the truck parked at the residence.
Vernon Brower was charged with drug trafficking, while Kimberly Brower was charged with possession of methamphetamine (more than 2 grams). Bond was set at $40,000 for Vernon and $7,500 for Kimberly. Both suspects posted bond the following day, July 19.
“We have received repeated information about illegal narcotics being sold at this residence,” Gooch said. “We were able to obtain enough evidence for a search warrant. We believe they were a major supplier in the area for both Yalobusha and Tallahatchie counties.”
