Popular Spring tells of fall revival

A Mississippi State University Natural Resource Enterprises workshop for landowners will be held Tuesday, Sept. 24, from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m., at Bailey Brake Farm, 19869 Mississippi Highway 35, Charleston, MS 38921. Lunch will be included in the registration fee of $10. Among topics to be discussed are land management for waterfowl, feral hog control, farm bill programs, and gaining supplemental income from your land. The Chick-fil-A food truck will park in front of the CARE Arts Center in Charleston from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 30, to enable community members to purchase food. Only credit cards and debit cards are accepted. A portion of all sales goes to CARE to provide programs for the community.

The annual Gateway to the Delta Festival will be held Saturday, Oct. 12, beginning at 10 a.m., around the Court Square in Charleston.
The all-day event will feature a fun run/walk, live musical entertainment, arts and crafts, children’s games and activities, a car show, children’s pageants, food trucks and more. Admission is free.

Decorate your storefront for Gateway
The Gateway to the Delta Festival on Oct. 12 is the largest event of the year on the Charleston Court Square, and businesses are invited to celebrate in style by decorating their storefront for the fall season. Trophies will be awarded for first, second and third places, and winners will also have their photos featured in The Sun-Sentinel on Oct. 10. Judging will occur on Friday, Oct. 4, beginning at 3 p.m.
