The Ricky Lewis Jones Memorial Scholarship was established in honored memory of Ricky and to recognize the academic achievements and dedication of graduating seniors at Charleston High School. On May 14, a total of $1,500 was awarded to three graduating seniors at CHS, with each recipient receiving $500.
The 2026 scholarship recipients are:
» Asia Scott was involved in several clubs and organizations, including the National Technical Honor Society, where she served as president of the school’s first- ever chapter; National Honor Society; BETA Club, where she served as assistant secretary; Debate Team; Exquisite Pearls; and Science Club. She plans to attend Northwest Mississippi Community College to study Construction Management. Her goal is to work for a construction company and later become a vocational teacher to mentor and inspire future students, especially young women interested in trade careers.
» Anthony Davis Jr. was senior class president, president of CHS National Honor Society, Beta Club treasurer, and a member of the National Honor History Society and the Debate Team. He made history by becoming the first-ever Mr. CTE at CHS. He plans to attend Northwest Mississippi Community College to pursue a degree in nursing and then to further his education to become a well-known filmmaker, creating films to inspire Black youth.
» Jada Leavy is salutatorian of the CHS Class of 2026, earning a 4.1 GPA. She is the 2025-26 Miss Charleston High School, a member of the ACT 20+ Club, CHS Hall of Fame, Science Club, and holds a Silver ACT WorkKeys certification. She served as class vice president, Beta Club vice president and National Honor Society secretary. She is a two-time track and field state champion. Jada received several scholarships. After graduation, she plans to attend the community college of her choice to pursue nursing (RN) then continue her education at Mississippi University for Women to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and become a labor and delivery nurse.
