The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks has announced that Commissioner Bill F. Cossar of Charleston has been elected to serve as chairman of the Commission on Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks for the coming year.
Cossar, a graduate of the University of Mississippi, has served the past eight years on the Commission and began his chairmanship on July 1, 2022.
"Chairman Cossar comes from a long line of conservationists and truly has a passion for the outdoors and serving the Great State of Mississippi," said a Commission spokesperson.
The five commissioners are appointed by the governor, with the advice and consent of the Senate, for a five-year term.
