On April 4, career and technical education directors and instructors from Charleston High School, Grenada High School, J.Z. George High School and Winona High School assembled to collect their share of a huge donation of tools.
Milwaukee Tool, which is in the process of constructing a new factory on Interstate 55 in Grenada County, donated more than 50 pallets of various tools, tool kits and shop equipment to these CTE programs.
The Charleston-based Ed & Becky Meek Foundation issued a statement thanking Milwaukee Tool for their support of “these important programs in our schools.”
The new Milwaukee Tool plant in Grenada will encompass 563,000 square feet. Company officials say the industry will create 800 new jobs there within eight years, and area workers will be needed to fill those positions on an ongoing basis.
