The Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi, in collaboration with the Maddox Nonprofit and Volunteer Resource Center, jointly presented a Donor Fund and Finance Training event at the James C. Kennedy Wellness Center in Charleston on Aug. 10.
The session featured Jan Eastman from the Mississippi Alliance of Nonprofits and Philanthropy, who served as the guest instructor. The event was designed to empower nonprofits and community organizations by enhancing their ability to leverage available resources for the betterment of the community.
During the training, attendees were treated to an immersive master class that delved deeply into the intricacies of effective fundraising processes.
Eastman navigated through the fundamental pillars of fund development, equipping participants with indispensable insights to orchestrate impactful campaigns.
The comprehensive curriculum spanned from foundational steps crucial for annual support, to touching on strategies underpinning grant writing, special events, capital campaigns, major gifts, and planned giving.
Stacye Trout, development director for the foundation, took the opportunity during a catered lunch, provided by Sweet Sweet’s Eats, to illuminate the advantages of establishing an endowment at the foundation. This insightful discussion added yet another layer of depth to the training, ensuring that attendees left not only with an enriched understanding but also practical takeaways to implement in their respective organizations.
