The Tallahatchie County Democratic Executive Committee will host Democratic precinct caucuses Saturday, Feb. 24, starting at 10 a.m. in Tallahatchie County.
The purpose of the caucuses is to elect delegates to the Democratic County Convention set for Saturday, March 23, and to receive input into the platform of the party for the next four years.
Additionally, the caucuses are the first step in electing delegates to the congressional, district, state and national conventions to be held later this year.
The caucuses are open to anyone professing to be a Democrat and who is a duly registered voter in Tallahatchie County or who intends to register to vote before Nov. 4. Attendance at the caucus at which an individual votes is a requirement to participate.
Tallahatchie County’s precinct locations include the Enid firehouse, Springhill firehouse, Teasdale firehouse, Charleston Day Center, Charleston City Hall, Brazil-True Vine Church, Sumner Courthouse, Cascilla fire station, Paynes fire station, Charleston Rotary Club building, Rosebloom firehouse, Murphreesboro fire station, Tippo fire station, Blue Cane Community Center, Leverette precinct, Glendora Clinic building, Philipp Fire Department, Webb 4-DaSpot, Tutwiler Community Education Center, West Tallahatchie School District Central Office and West Tallahatchie High School.
