Charleston resident Angela Etheridge has been named education coordinator for the Ed and Becky Meek Foundation.
Etheridge has dedicated her life and career to education and empowering individuals through knowledge, explained Dr. Ed Meek.
A lifelong resident of Tallahatchie County, Etheridge also serves as the director of the Tallahatchie County Library.
“We are delighted to have Angela oversee the education programs of the Ed and Becky Meek Foundation. Angela has the experience and heart to continue to inspire young people and help them to achieve their personal goals in life,” said Dr. Meek.
Etheridge brings more than a decade of experience as an educator, having taught first, second and third grades within the East Tallahatchie School District for 10 years. She holds a degree in education from Delta State University and a Master of Library Science from the University of Southern Mississippi.
Established as a trust, the Ed and Becky Meek Foundation has provided financial assistance to 79 young people since the program’s inception three years ago.
Passionate about equal opportunities and access to education, Etheridge will work part-time with the Meek Foundation to help people learn, grow and reach their full potential, promoting literacy and supporting education, noted Dr. Meek.
She will assume responsibility for awarding scholarships and grants for the foundation to East Tallahatchie County residents.
