The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Vicksburg District announces that Grenada Lake will host its annual Special Archery Hunt this year for the 2024-25 hunting season.
Hunters will have the option to use crossbows, compound bows, as well as traditional archery equipment.
Registration for the hunt begins Sept 4 and will continue throughout the season. Registration is in-person only at the Visitor Center at Grenada Lake. The Visitor Center is open weekly, Wednesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m.
The designated archery-only hunting area is the Corps property located on the south side of Old Highway 8 between 333 Restaurant and Wolf Creek hollow. This area will be open from Oct. 1, 2024, until Jan. 31, 2025.
Hunters that register for the Special Archery Hunt will receive a packet containing all the rules and regulations as well as detailed maps of each designated area.
