WEBB — The town of Webb recently offered interested persons the opportunity to participate in an educational program about their health.
The Chronic Disease Self-Management Program was a free six-week program presented by the Mississippi Delta Health Collaborative and the Webb Mayor’s Health Council.
Classes were held at the Webb Community Center.
Participants learned how to cope and manage their health by working with their doctor, personalize a fitness and exercise program, relax and managestress, deal with negative emotions, manage symptoms and set weekly goals.
“The information presented was timely and the presenters delivered the content in a very professional manner,” said Webb Mayor Tracy Mims, himself a participant.
“The participants were engaged in all learning aspects to include role play, discussion groups and individual recall,” Mims added.
The presenters used the book, “Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions,” by Kate Lorig.
At the conclusion of the course of study, participants received certificates of completion during a ceremony at the Webb Community Center.
