TUTWILER — Days before the Thanksgiving holiday, West Tallahatchie Habitat for Humanity completed its mission once again, “One home, one hammer, one dollar, one family at a time.”
The Habitat affiliate dedicated House No. 48 to its newest homeowner, Ariel Montgomery, and daughter.
On Tuesday, Nov. 25, Montgomery signed off on her promissory note/Deed of Trust to Homeownership with West Tallahatchie Habitat for Humanity. A house dedication ceremony was held immediately following the signing.
Montgomery expressed her gratitude to West Tallahatchie Habitat for blessing her and her daughter, Alaiyah, with a new home, and for giving her the opportunity to become a homeowner.
She especially thanked the following volunteer groups and organizations for their commitment and service to helping her dream of becoming a homeowner a reality:
Urbana High School, Urbana, Illinois; La Canada Presbyterian Church, La Canada, California; Sheils Catholic Center, Evanston, Illinois; St. Thomas The Apostle Church, Naperville, Illinois; Urbana College Group; Zete Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated, Omega Psi Zeta chapter, Ruleville; Oaklawn Baptist Church, Newman, Georgia; Scott Goodwin and family, Yorkville, Illinois; West Tallahatchie High School Beta Club, and all the family and friends that helped make this homebuilder project possible
