WEBB — Young athletes had the opportunity to sharpen their volleyball skills during a two-day West Tallahatchie School District Community School Initiative Summer Volleyball Camp held June 23-24 at the Bernard Berryhill Gymnasium on the campus of West Tallahatchie High School.
Led by head volleyball coach Raven Hawkins and assistant coach Corey Grayson, the camp focused on developing fundamental volleyball skills while emphasizing the importance of teamwork, communication and sportsmanship.
Participants received instruction in serving, passing, setting, hitting and defensive techniques through a variety of drills and competitive activities.
The camp welcomed 11 participants each day, providing a positive and encouraging environment where players of varying skill levels could learn, improve and build confidence on the court.
Both Hawkins and Grayson expressed appreciation for the campers’ enthusiasm and commitment, noting that summer camps provide valuable opportunities for young athletes to develop their abilities while preparing for the upcoming volleyball season.
This event exemplified the WTSD Community Schools mission of providing meaningful enrichment opportunities that engage students, strengthen community partnerships and promote positive youth development.
